Marcia F. Christy, née Chapin, was the oldest daughter of Dennis and Lucinda. She was born in Ohio on April 30, 1838. Her first marriage was to John William Bocock in November 1857, and the couple welcomed a son, George Franklin, in October of the following year. However, this happiness was not to last; John died in 1859 at the age of 25 when George was just over one year old. As of the 1860 census, Marcia and her son were living with her parents and siblings.

In 1875, Marcia married her second husband, Richard P. Christy (see biography). She moved west with her husband, her son George, and stepchildren at her sister-in-law’s behest, settling in Coal Creek just outside of Minneapolis, Kansas. They later venutred further west to live in Oklahoma.

Marcia passed away on July 28, 1900.
