Dear Mother
your letter was read yesterday was very glad to here from you all. you spoke about Maggie writeing to us we have not got her letter yet we are all as well as usual the baby has had a cold ever since he was born. in his head. has got the snufels pretty bad. he is five weeks old, weighs fourteen lbs is as fat as a pig. he is not a very good baby I have to spend the most of my time taeking care of him. we have not named him yet. Send a name for him. Will and wife come and stayed two weeks with me when I was sick I had good care got a long nicely I had a doctor this time
Emmas Father he is a good doctor, we live in part of thier house. Slice thinks the Baby is the niceest thing in the world. she Rocks it in her little chair takes lots of care of him for me she often wishes for some of Granmas Appels. Lewis starts in School Tomorrow dose not like to goe but I think he will like when he gets started tell Maggie that I have got my dress done at last put a flounce on the botom of the skirt it makes a prety dress all the new dress I have had since Christmas. you spoke of spending a Box you can send by Freight direct to Minneapolis by way of Soloman City. do not go to Buying anything for us we will get along some way. I hope next year we will rase a good crop. we have lost our Team it is a Great loss but we do not give up as long as we have good health I think there will be some way for us to get along. the Lord will Provide. poor old Moly I had a good cry when she died it seamedlike loseing a friend you can Imagen how Oscar fealt. Fanie is all the one we have left She is doing well now but she has been so poor that she could not get up alone I wish we had sold our horses and Bought after we got hear. they all [illegible] down the first year we fead lots of [illegible] wheat but it did not do any good Oscar drove Fan seven miles and Back to day. the first time he has had her harnest for Two mounts. it took Three men to get her up once when she layed down. you wanted to Know how much beans were worth five and sisc [illegible] per pound dried fruite I could not tell you the price of that we do not see any very often. you must not wory about us we will get along some way Lewie has got good boots and we got him some [illegible] pants coat and vest I have not got the coat done yet
Oscar got him a pare of good Boots last week. Alice has got good shoes and stockings she has not had any new dress since she come to Kansas she is wearing her Plad evry day this winter I give her the money you sent and she got yarn enough to nit her a pare of stockings. she says granma is Awfull good to send her some money write soon all in bead but but me
