My Dear Sister
I was wonderfully pleased to receive a letter from you, I had come to the conclusion long ago that you had either forgotten us or did not care about us. Here some one is yelling Ange at the top of their voice. -
It is nearly a week ago since I wrote the above. Never mind I think that in the course of two months I will finish and that will be as swift as you was. Sallie [Lassingdram?] was here all last week and Saturday Polly and Mrs Evans came up and staid until yesterday when they all left for home, and this morning, a thing quite unusual we are without company. Week before last Billy Harrison was here nearly all the week. I had a nice time visiting with him, he has improved very-much since I last saw him, he talked about you and thinks you are a mighty nice woman, he wished to be remembered to you and your family with [illegible] tender regards He returned to Chillacothe [Chillicothe?] expecting soon to emigrate into the state of matrimony. I would like very much to come and see you; but when that time will I cant tell, I am teaching this summer, have commenced a four months session. My daily attendance is near thirty. My school will not close before the last of August, so you see that I am in for the summer at any-rate, when that closes I cant say what I shall be about. - time will tell and then I’ll tell you. I cant tell you about my worldly prospects much yet. Are favorable at present. I would like to take a stroll over the Praraie with you and gather flowers
I proceed to give you some of the Items
[Ma(y/g)?] Williams is at home and has a young daughter. Calls it Agnes
Mary Doyl has a young son - came near dying getting it. - too poor to name it. Jeff Madden’s wife prosecuted old [Fritchy?] for selling her [illegible] ardent drinks Bound him over to Court and let him run. People think he will have a serious time of it before he gets through. I hope so. John Williams has moved down to his Mother’s to live since his father died. There my Item budget has run ashore aready - I am not well stocked for I am confined at home so closely that I haven’t much chance to become posted in matters and things [Lib?] sends love, she is not very well at present, she talked of writing when I did; but she does no feel able tonight and I’ll not wait for her. Ell is at school in Coshocton, Charlie goes to school to me, Mollie is sailing around as usual and I am a dignified old maid of 23 teaching schule, and sprouting ideas. I received a letter from Eleanor Saturday they were well then but George and the boys had been having the ague all the spring Mother was well the last I heard [illegible] her, Ella’s health was improving slowly, - the rest were well. You must kiss Denny + Harry for Auntie I am glad the children havent forgotten us. Tell Oscar and Hannah that I would like to receive a letter from them. Tell Marcia I am waiting patiently for an answer. Love to Dennis and tell him to write, I want to hear what he has to say [illegible] dear sister don’t let so long time elapse before you write me again. My letter is rather uninteresting, but I cant remedy it for I feel very much fatigued My school is large in numbers; but small in size. Please remember me to Mr Carl and Sarah Bart - not forgetting Jesse.
My love to Harrison and tell him I want him to write to me also that Georgie is well and says Pete is in Banna. My love to you. Your Sister Angie
