Dear Mother
I have been thinking about you all day, and wishing that we could see you. But as wishing dose no good, I will do the next best thing, answer your letter, that was received so long ago. the children are all well want to know what I am a going to tell Granma
Alice talks about you more than any of them She will be Nine years old the 25 of this mounth. She is quite a woman for one of her years She is going to coal creek tomorrow to stay a week if she dont get home sick is like Hannah likes home prety well. She is going to stay with a Mrs Hall one of Marcies Neighbors while her Husband is away
Oscar is building us an other room have never had but one since we come to Kans, and that a small one twelve by thirteen the bed room will be 10 by 15 his knee is stiff yet allways will be I expect
the winter wheat looks well here, has been prety dry through the winter, have had but very little snow
the Peaches are all killed here. I have not got my quilt done yet have not been able to get the cloth to set it to gether am going to raise lots of chickens if I can. perhaps I can quilt it some time this sumer. we think a great deal of it. O. says poor Mother I wish I could send for her. his will is good he has so much bad suck has to work all the time to make up the loss
