My Dear Mother
You will see that I have thought of writing to you by the date of this letter and I assure you that was not the only time. I have said almost every day that I must write to Mother today.
I have had a letter from Harris and Marcia since I received your letter and Maggie’s. I was so glad to have Harris write. Hope Dennis is [end fragment]
Foxcroft - Oct 27th, 1872
Dear Mother and all
Hannah commenced this letter some time since, and today she wants me to finish it. I am most happy to inform you of the fact that we are in [?} of the sweetest Girl babie [sic] you ever saw.
She came along last Thursday about 8 A.M. Hannah is [?] [?] girl first [?] girl weighed 10 lbs 11 oz
Please send in your congratulations and contributions we are ready to receive them now.
Of course a name is out of the question at present. We have looked the the [sic] [?] [?] through from “Sal” to “Jehosephat” and find nothing quite good enough yet. If you have any thing good enough please send them along.
Tell Maggie the kiss was gladly received and in return she may have two from me.
Herbert thinks his little baby sister is awfull [sic] nice.
