1875

The sole letter from 1875 does not disclose the details of any major life events for the Chapin-McNeils, but rather details a series of mundane goings-on. In the letter Dorcas’ daughter Marcia relates to her mother of what it is like living on Yankee Ridge and what she has been up to recently in Champaign. Noteworthy is the fact that she has signed the letter Marcia Bocock, using the name of her late first husband, as well as mentioned speaking with a Mr. Christy, who later that year would become her second husband.
