Dear Mother and Sister
I did think when I received your letter that I would sit down and answer it without delay But you know it is Such as task to write a letter the children have been haveing the Ague this winter that is Alie Willie and the Babby L has not had to ague since we left Ills
we were over to Marcies last Satruday Richard mended our shoes George and Alf are here to Night are going to the Timber tomorrow Oscar is hawling wood for them Marcia stayes alone Alf got her a new dress yesterday the first she has had in Kansas Mother I wish you could come out and make us a long visit we have pleanty to eat have got three new milks cows killed four hogs meat is so cheap we did not sell any have got a barrel of hams and sholders. I sell a dollar worth of Eggs most every week Eggs are ten cts a doz Butter twelve and a half cts
Marcia had a letter from Hannah last week she said she had not heard from you for a long time you must write to your children oftener a letter from you gives us much pleasure the children all clame Granmas letter Alice and Lewis have been writeing to Maggie and Harris I supose I will have to let them send them
Marcia told us about the Blackberries Pach give me a pint of dried Barries Dot called them Granmas Berries Oscar thinks the quilt you sent is nice. I thank you for it. (think its nice to, do you take any story papers I take the Illustrates Family Herrald [Illustrated Family Herald] if you want them I will send them to you it is a story paper Oscar takes the Inter Ocean [Chicago Inter Ocean]
we have had a very cold winter but it is very Pleasant now have had nice weather for two weeks
I do wish you could come to Kansas this next Spring if I had the Money to send to you I would have you out here in less than two weeks that is if you wold come. Maggie I wish you would write often you have never writen but three letters to us since we come to Kansas
give our love to Dennis and wife I thank her for the patern she sent me. I suppos Charles is a great Pet
I must say a word or to to Harris how is your girl and what is her name what color is her hair did you say red that is well marry her, Black eyes and red hare she is a good Girl
