Dear Mother
We received your Kind letter in due time was pleased to death most to hear from you we are all well and quite happy again. the hoppers are all gone no Boddy nose where they have gone there is no dead ones to be seen. we have had so much rain this spring, rivers and Creeks are up very high and a good many Bridges washed a way. Some of our corn and Beans and Potatoes are washed out I think the hoppers have gone down stream you dont Know how good it makes me [illegible] feal to think they are not here to eat evry thing up as fast as it comes up our wheat is looking well now if we have a good crop of wheat it will bring us out all right this fall Oscar has Traided his Oxon of and got a Span of large Bag horses has to Pay one hundred and Ten dolors Boot. I have got twenty six little Chickens could of had a Hundred I thought if the hoppers eat evry thing up they would starve have fore little Yorkies, we have not heard from Alice for a long tim she was in St Louis then. Will is in Arizona is county Clerk and recorder gets fifteen hundred dolors a year I have writen to him to day. his wife can Spend two Thousand a year so he will come out in debt at the end of the year Poor Will makes lots of money but can not save any. I think such women as she is ought to come to contriveing as I have to then Prehaps she would know how to save better. She is a good Hearted woman but very Extravigant. Alice is writing to you she talks about you so much Lewis and her both clame your Picture. and Willie sais it is my Grandma to now. I wish you could come out and see us this fall why cant you there is a great meny People comeing in this year the clames are most all taken up around us. I wish Maggie would write what is she doing this summer dose she work at her trade. we call the Baby Mag she calls the Chickens and the Kitty quite plane is Eight Mounts old. how much rent do you get for your place I have tride all day to get Oscar to write to you. he is a Chip off of the old Block he dont like to do you. it is all most a year sence you wrote to us.
