Dear Mother,
It has been a long time since I wrote you, but have often thought of you and [?]. Have heard from you of course [?] often through Hannah and I suppose you have the same from me.
We are only as well as could be [?] under the circumstances. And now comes the cause of my writing this letter to you at this time.
We have an addition to our family of a little Boy, two weeks old last Friday. About two o’clock P.M. the Boy weighed 10 1/2 lbs and is just as good as can be if he gets enough to eat and that you know is something lik [sic] his old Dad. Hannah says don’t worry at all about me for I am [?] [?]. Yes I think she is getting along very well although it [?] [?] me rather slow. We have not named the boy yet so please send in a few good ones.
We were out a few days before H. was sick and had the childrens [sic] pictures taken and will send them. When H. gets able we intend to go in and have hers taken. H. says she will write as soon as she is able.
We send love to you and yours also to all [?] friends.
Please write us as often as you can.
Your Son,
Tho. Daggett
