Mu Xiangyue

Mu Xiangyue 穆湘玥 (穆藕初 1876-1943),

The Cotton King of China (中国棉纺大王 )

UI Class of 1913 known as Moh H.Y. (Mu Hsiang-yueh)

He recieved his M.A. in 1914, at Texas A&M University. Moh is recognized as the first Chinese university student in Texas.

He returned to Shanghai to become an entrepreneur who was noted for his work in developing the cotton industry in China.

In 1928, Moh joined the Nationalist government. Then he served variously in the ministries of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture.
