Tangerine Flyers

In November 1924, the ITS began a new, aggressive marketing campaign to build ridership and compete with automobiles. The Tangerine Flyers debuted with a bright tangerine orange paint scheme defined the system in 1920s and 30s. These cars were faster and more luxurious and featured limited service between larger cities. This era truly was the height of the Illinois Traction System.
