Tickets From the Audience

These are admissions tickets to the inaugural Farm Aid Benefit Concert at Memorial Stadium in Champaign. They belonged to David Roesch, who was one of more than 80,000 concert attendees that night. The tickets were sold by ticket master. It is a general admissions ticket that costs $17.50, or around $48.50 today.

Even with a venue as large as Memorial Stadium, tickets for the concert were not easy to obtain. Buyers had to start lining up for the concert the night before. Many individuals ended up sleeping in line before being let into Memorial Stadium at about 7 am. That meant that by the time the concert ended, most concertgoers had been on site for over an entire day.
