Farm Aid wears the proud title of the longest running benefit concert series in the United States and has continued to hold an annual festival since 1985, raising over $64 million in the name of family farmers across the nation.

Since its establishment, Farm Aid has continued to hold annual benefit concerts, with each event featuring a lineup of musicians from various genres. In efforts to “promote food from family farms, grow the good food movement, help farmers thrive, and take action to change the system.” The three founders of the organization, Nelson, Mellencamp, and Young still serve on its board; however, the expansion and success of the Farm Aid organization has allowed it to hold 10 board members as of spring 2023.

Besides hosting benefit concerts every year, the Farm Aid organization seeks to provide resources to help farmers improve their business practices, stay on their land, and build overall stronger communities. The organization works to promote policies that support family farmers, including fair prices for their products and access to credit and technical assistance.
